6.0L Swap starts tomorrow - Should be ready to run for Tuesday

Engine is running and is in need of some tuning. I like the cam so far. Very docile, althought a tad more lope that I hoped for. On the 4.8L tune with the Z06 cam, it runs so so". It wants to kill when a very fast downwards throttle transition takes place. I've got some major tuning to do tonight and tomorrow. So far I notice it's much torque-ier (is that a word) than the 4.8L Although it doesn't seem to pull as hard up top as the 4.8L. I'm not so sure it's all that much faster............. YET. Give me some time to get the bugs worked out of the tune and I will post up some video of the idle, speedo runs, etc. Stay tuned. There'll be some video by the end of the weekend.

LoL! Time to go get everything finished up and see if it fires It better work since I just sold my car and the guy is picking it up tomorrow. Assuming there's no problems, vids to come later this afternoon/tonight. Stay tuned Oh and FWIW, a stock 1968 hurst olds engine was 390 HP and 500 ft lbs of torque. I don't think a stock 6.0L or even an LS2 could provide similar performance. It's about 100 ft lbs of torque shy lol. I'm sure the new 6.0L is going to be impressive for what it is but we're not going to find out unless I get my butt out there and finish.P We'll see you guys this afternoon and let you know.
Looks like a pretty sweet engine your building up...
...one of these days I am gonna have to find myself a 6.0L.
I have to add that the new LS2 is rated with hp and torque with SAE ratings which mean at the flywheel with all accessories including exhaust, intake, serpentine...
The engines of the 60's and 70's stock were not rated with SAE, and I believe they were rated at flywheel without accessories.
So this should be factored into consideration, of course I have to pre-agree with everyone that todays best test for power is RWHP by far!!!
On a side note, I read somewhere that a 426 HEMI that was rated at 425hp in the 60's/70's is actually closer to 360hp SAE, whether that is true or not I do not know since I do not own a hemi!!!
