Default 8.1 injectors?

I have a 4.8 and was wondering the flow rate or the 4.8-5.3-8.1 injectors. going to have 5.3 heads cam supercharged and was wonder ing if 8.1 injector would work or be benificial. i am positive i am not going to have enough injecter with 4.8 injectors.
thanks Ryan

are you saying you are going with a heads and cam and blower set up? and on a what size engine?

with heads and cam and blower of a 5.3 none of those injectors will be large enuff, maybe on a 4.8 though.

here is a good site for injectors http://www.rceng.com/technical.htm

the 8,1's have the largest injector and i think it is a 29lb unit. using their formula it is only good for 386hp. i would think a blown heads and cam anything would make more power than 386hp

I would say do the RC 41lbs Injectors they were really easy to tune in and will support more than enough Hp 450 or so at 80% duty
rather have more than not enough

Jim has a point. Ive got the 8.1l injectors on my 5.3. They just popped right in. IMO if you have a 4.8 with 5.3 heads/cam/S/C, you should be ok with the 8.1 injectors. I dont know what s/c you have or how much boost you run. I guess that would be the biggest factor. im sure if your above 7psi on a 90cfm or larger S/C, you will have to go bigger than the 8.1l.

41's at 80% and .60bsfc = (41x.8)/.6x8 = 437hp
41's at 100% and .60bsfc = 546hp
29's at 80% and .60bsfc = 309hp
29's at 100% and .60bsfc = 386hp

stock 5.3 with whipple is rated around 400hp, add heads and cam and exhaust of course and you would have to be at 500+hp.

gmc ski, if you keep uping that boost those 41's aren't going to cover it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> if i were doing it over again i would go with some 50's for an ls1 and go thru the hastle to make them work.

the motor is not done yet but it is a heads cam s/c setup 5.3. so from what i see the 41's thould be good. when all is said and done expect around 500hp. it will not see les than 10lbs of boost.
thanks Ryan

I'll be on the edge of the injectors for sure not plannin on doing any heads cam just yet so i figure the 41lbs will hold up maybe?

We are running SVo 38lb injectors with custom tuning, H/C, and an ATI with around 7-8 lbs and it runs great. Not sure what the fuel pressure was. We have it tuned alittle rich to be safe right now. Was going to go bigger, but it was not needed.

svo 38lb injectors at our stock fuel presure of 59psi are actualy 44lb injectors, thats a prety big injector and i wouldn't expect any shortage of fuel for awhile.

sleeper, at 10psi on a heads and cam 5.3 you should plan on a $2000 tranny, maybe a fuel pump, ls1 edit or a tuner $500+, your pistons and for that matter the whole bottom end might not be happy either. i am at the point of questioning my lower end, i would like to hit it with a 50shot but if i do that i will be tempted to go with a 75 and then.... boom now i need a whole new long block. alot of people around here seem to be thinking one power adder(i am counting heads and cam) is ok but 2 and the motor wont last without beefing it up.
