I was looking around for some motors so I can get this pos v6 out of my truck lol.. I ran into what seemed to be a good price on a late model 8.1 vortec engine... I dont know anything about them and was wondering if anyone could shed some light on what I would be getting myself into tryint to drop it into my truck...

I searched but didnt find any definite answers...

Sounds like a lot of expense for a motor that doesn't have much aftermarket support. You would probably be better off with a 6.0L

I agree 100%.

Get the 6.0L / 6.2L and you will have WAYYY more options than you will with the 8.1L.

I will probably do a 5.3 I should have kept my LS2 and dumped it in the truck lol.. Ahhh I could kill myself for selling it.
