Default 8.5lbs. 91 octane 100deg heat...NO detonation!!

Thats right!

I got my 10lb pulley from Whipple this morning and installed it. I noticed right off the bat that it spool ALOT faster...and even just normal driving you can feel a difference.

THEN I layed into it Holy crap! What a difference, I went from 25-75 in what seemed like an instant and opened it up 4 times and everything seemed smooth and no audible detonation.

I am going to the track this evening...and we'll have cooler temps, plus ATAP...soo I can make sure there is no detonation whatsoever, but I'll running race gas.

Ohh, and I am only making 8.5-9lbs...but I figure that is because Whipple rates their pulleys at sea level (Cali) and I am at 3500ft above.

Sweet. Let us know what times you pull. So what kind of truck do you have? Mods and such. What engine?

Its a 99 Silverado. RCSB stepside.

Whipple
ASM Longtubes
4L60 w/shift kit
2/4 drop
18" Budnick's
295/45/18 BFG's

It was built by Arizona Speed and Marine as their showcase truck for their products, and I bought it from them and been improving it every since .

Sounds like a sweet truck to have. I bet its been beat like crazy on the dyno.

So you dont have the common trouble with false knock associated with 99's?

Considering that it is a '99 RCSB it is most likely a 5.3L, right? Or did someone swap in a 6.0L?

Oh yea (duh me)...its a 5.3.

It actually didnt have alot of dyno time...but it did have some. I bought it with 18k miles...and it has 34k on it now...they took it on the 2000 Hot Rod Power Tour, and its been in 3 mags.

I'm getting ready to do some nice exterior upgrades...and then its going up for sale. Im gonna sock the $$ away, and then build something else in a year or 2.

Did you ever have any problems with your knock sensors?
