8 Pounds of boost impressions
Finally got the 8 pound pully yesterday and installed. Took it for a drive,
1.Even in cold weather(43 degrees)-had audible detonation.
2.Turned on alky injection-detonation went away
3.From a 45 mph roll-WOT= pretty nice tire spin
4.Saw 50.92 lbs/min on the MAF
5.Alky kit is leaking some at a fitting gotta fix that
All in all I'm pretty pleased. Cant wait to get the truck to Futral for some dyno tuning to see how much he can squeaze out of it.
Ahhhhh Boost...gimme more

I take you have traction problem too. I am fixing to get some 20's with some wider tires. Hopefully, that will help my traction problem. If that does not solve the problem completely, I will have to resort to traction bars. What are you doing to solve your traction issue?

I have some plans but dont know when i'll get around to doing it.
I want some caltracs, gotta get my lowered hangers modified before I can get them though. I would like to get some QA1 adjustable shocks too, gotta save up though,I think they are about 130.00 each I might pull the front sway bar, but not sure how that would affect everyday driving.Maybe relocate the battery to the bed. Other than running slicks at the track that's all I can think of to help out with traction on the street. Oh yeah, when these Yoko's wear out I want to try some Nitto 404's.I hear they hook better.

Mr Walker, what are some of your previous MAF values? 6psi on the 6.0, 8 psi on the old motor, etc...
Just trying to get a feel for MAF flow values and power output.
Richard
Oh yeah: Your truck =

I cant remember exactly what the 4.8 pulled on the maf, but I dont even think it ever got into the 40lb range, for some reasong I think 36-38lbs/min was the most.
I think on 6psi the 6.0 pulled in the upper 40's on the Maf, but I cant remember my memory sucks
This 6.0 definatley moves more air. The 4.8 took a 4.5 inch pully to make 8 pounds of boost.I'm runnin a 3.5 inch pully on the 6.0 to make 8psi.
thanks for the

Thanks. I still had a few logs of my 5.3 with the whipple @ 7psi. I saw one log of hitting a MAF of 41. Unfortunately, I was logging way too much stuff, and there too much delay between lines. Most ot the other ones showed a MAF in the high 30s.
Your 50# number is nice.

So that alky injection stuff works pretty well...awesome job ranwalk!
Flyer and I were doing MAF readings to find out how well different cams flowed.
If you list a MAF reading, you should also state at what rpm it was seen at and in what gear. (you can figure the gear thing by watching the Autotap/Tech2 log and see how many times you shift)
This makes for a more accurate collection of data
I should have the 3.5" pulley on Tues. I hope to see 7psi. on my 5.3L The intercooler only drops 1/2lb, but I have some other stuff on there that flows really well
