Seems like a 800hp $45,000 truck would have a very limited market. I'm also kind of courious how that could pass emissions.
I think you could easily do a 345 hp 6.0 w/4L65E in a RCSB and sell it for about $30,000 depending on other options and features. Or to better compete with the higher powered SRT10 or a new 550HP 05 Lightning, get a (lower compression) 325 hp 6.0 with the 4L80E and add a radix supercharger.

I'm with everyone else. No way in hell it will pass emissions. Also, how you gonna get all the guages to work?

The price is right. I think you could make it legal in The Peoples Republic Of California if you work the right loop holes. For example if you build a kit car from scratch you can get a VIN and register it in Cal with out ever having had if smoged. Or, Diesels are smog exempt, if a vehicle is born diesel and converted to gas its still smog exempt.

A streetable (and streetable is very relative) 800hp would take some engineering. But could be done. I have Pontiac motor in an old GTO putting out 600tq at 3000rpm on pump gas with 9.5:1. Its very drivable under normal driving, no over heating, reasonable idle. But, if I give it any throttle I can write my name in script in any parking lot I want. Streetable? I cant imagine an 800hp truck being safe.

Another thought. Assuming it is warrantied, smoged, and streetable how can you go to you insurance agent with a straight face and ask for coverage on an 800hp truck. Spend $45,000.oo to buy the truck then spend another $45,000.oo to insure it.

Even still I would like to see it happen.

I think he bought his truck used and he did most, if not all, of the installation, tuning, etc. on it. You can't expect a so-called 800HP truck that's been put together and fine tuned to cost around that much.

800hp from an 8.1L is almost 100hp/L...with 8.1L......oh sweet baby jesus! That would be freakin' sweet.

Wait a minute lets establish some things first.....
1. We can all agree this won't pass the sniffer in Cali or anywhere for that matter....or will it?
2. Will it have a warranty? (reliable)
3. $45K on top of a $25K truck or just $45K out the door?
4. AWD/4WD?
5. Blown or Turbo?
6. EC or RC?
7. What tranny?

Lots of un-answered questions here....I'm not getting my hopes up.

Lets say if I buy one, and it breaks (which it will with 100hp/L). Lets say theres even a warranty. Who the hell is going to work on it besides the company that modified it? You're telling me that I have to have this truck shipped to that company, and then shipped back. PITA!!!

I would sell my kidney for one of those trucks.
If I had the $$ I would definately get one, but I don't have anywhere near $42k especially since I just bought my SS

Sounds like a phantom truck/idea all together. Why would you even bother when you could go get a SRT-10 and spray the **** out of it. Those motors can easily take a 250 shot. 500 plus 250 is 750 fly hp.

There's your truck! Run medicle grade Nitrous and pull the kit and put the stock plugs back in and take it back to the dealer if you run in to any goof ups. Full warrentied 750 hp truck. Been there, done that. It works...

You can pick one up used for mid to low 40's and the n2o kit will run you another 750 to do it right...

I think the whole point is that very few of us could afford a truck like that. Not to mention the gas milage...
