Custom tunes are better then a hand held the only problem is if you do things like change tire size often (20's for daily driving 16's W/slicks for the weekends) Or your going to use nitrous and want to dump your N/A tune a hand help tuner will much more convenient. A custom tune is more of a one shot deal.

I couldn't find prices on nelson's site...do I just email him to get a ballpark?

I am having a hellua a time deciding which intake. I am leaning towards an MIT and the stock box with a K&N, but have been contemplating a volant as well...just when I think I have decided I read another thread...

From a tuner standpoint ... there's not much timing to get out of an 87 octane tune. You can lean it out just a little and still keep it safe, which may give you some noticable benefit. The only thing a custom tune can do is remove torque management, which you will see a pretty good gain from. I think the Predator does remove some of the TQM, but still not all of it.

what do you guys think about intakes? I had a K&N on my previous truck and liked the noise etc, and felt a gain, but my gas mileage, I think took a big hit. Would a volant be any better, or was it probably I just couldn't keep my foot out of it? So, I am looking at MIT and K&N with stock box, K&N FIPKII, or the volant without the scoop.
