I just picked up a '90 Chevy automatic with a 5.7 and after driving it for a few miles it will occasionally hesitate or bog and backfire when accelarating. If you let up on the throttle and ease back into it, it would run smoothly again. It's been a while since I worked on a TBI motor, so does it sound like a TPS ? It would seem to be either that or an ignition module.
Thanks for any help or ideas.

Do a tune up, plugs, wires, cap and roter. That will tell you what it is not. If that is not it do the fuel filter. If that is not it take it to a shop.

Just a quick update, after getting a chance to work on the truck, it ended up being a severely corroded dist. cap and main coil wire. It was so bad that the contact for the coil wire on the cap literally fell out when I took it off. After a new cap/rotor and plugs/wire, it runs great. I wonder how it got any spark at all.
Thanks for all of the advice.
