Default 98 Vortech cam help

I have a 1998 Z-71 with a 5.7. I installed a comp cam 206 intake 212 exhaust 110 lobe seperation. I sent my PCM to be reprogrammed because it has no low end power with the new cam. I can't even burn out lol. The programming company sent me back my PCM, I installed and it still has no low end power. He recommended a different cam with a different lobe seperation like 114. I've heard the LT-1 cams work good or what about a hotcam? I'm not interested in putting in a stall converter just wanna find the right cam so I won't have to do it again. If you guys could recommended some that would be great! I would like my truck to rip but at the same time run good. I can always send the PCM back to be reprogrammed with a new cam I just want it to work. Thanks.

thats the trade-off when going w/ a bigger cam. more topend power at the expense of lowend grunt. this is why you need a higher stall converter, to let the motor reach a higher rpm sooner. going w/ a wider LSA grind isnt the answer in my opinion. get a good converter and you'll be surprised how much better itll run. although i am surprised it has made that much difference in your truck, the cam aint that big CHIP

You Have To Be Real Careful With The R Motors We Have Tried All Kinds Of Stuff. Ed Wright Is Best Person To Do Any Kind Of Tunning On This Motor.
We Put A 210/224 Crane Cam In An X-cab With 3.42 Gears And A Stock Converter That Was Turned Upit Would Stall To About 2500 To 2600. It Ran A 14.9,and A Reg Cab With Stock Pcm Running 14.72.
Just Be Carefull Also Ith The Rocker Studs They Are Press In Not Screwed In And With A Big Cam They Can Work There Way Out.

What Else Do You Have Done To The Motor

You guys might want to look at what Vinci Performance/Crane has to offer. They have a couple of nice looking cams for these motors and a tuner that is calibrated for each of the cams. They are listed as sponsors on the LS1tech.com forum.

I dont have any experience with the products, but it seems like a very good setup.

mrr23, do you know what brand supercharger was used in that Tahoe dyno test?
