It's hard to tell from the pics if it was installed upside down or not. I would think that it would've been installed correctly if all of the other ones were.
I agree. With that small of a cam, you don't need anything more, and you wont have to worry about them breaking.

Those springs have a 1.190" coilbind height. Typical heads have a 1.77" installed height. 1.77-1.19= .580", the minimum distance to coil bind genrally accepted is .060". Your recommending he blindly drop in springs that will give him .030" to coilbind (1.77-.551-1.19= .029" distance to coilbind)

Hmm.....I didn't know what the minimum accepted distance to coil bind was. Your math is correct, but doesn't the LS9 cam have more lift than what the OP is running? Also, Lingenfelter recommends these springs for cams with. 580" lift and under. They also mention that these springs have tighter coil bind height tolerance.
You are correct Lingenfelter does recommend these springs with .580 lift or below. I know that 1 or 2 guys on this forum are running the TR220 with LS9 springs just fine. I cannot remember the usernames.
*EDIT* I know that andrew383 runs LS9 springs on his comp 216/220 low lift cam.

Your missing the point that using ls9 springs in this case would be a gamble.I really dont think the op plans on cutting corners to save a lil dough at this point.That being said they may fit the bill too but,like all valve springs you should take the critical measurements installed within the intended application.I have seen a couple of ls style heads where the spring pocket height was out .015 from the another head.Still not enough distance to cover the clearance needed in this case.Valve spring specs are more a guide line for intial choice ,and should'nt be regarded as solid evidence they work in all listed applications.
