? about 8100 160 thermo

Default ? about 8100 160 thermo

Just wondering if it is the same thermostat as the ls1 style. Thanks

Have one but don't know. Will need electric fans to keep trans temp in check if you do towing or a alot of in town. not enough heat to make stock fan "engage" enough.

What kind of thermo did you get? i have a hypertech 160 degree for an ls1 here and it has the thermo housing with it....havent looked at it or tried it yet, just wondering if anyone knew for sure before i put it in there.

I have one in my truck, I got it from Kenne Bell but Tbyrne sells the same one now. The ls1 style t-stat you have is not the same as an 8.1.

One for a vortec 454 will work. They are different from a LS1.

brought mine from Tybrne.

In traffic today, got up to 200* with ac on. So need is there for low speed air flow.
same with trans temp. So just be sure to address it.

Buying 2 16" zirgo fans(6600 cfm total) and dc control in couple of hours.

ok, thanks for the info guys. Ill look into one for a vortec 454 if they carry those an an auto parts store
