Default ?? about Caltracs-Daily Driver and Snow!!

Guys,
I have a 03' silverado with a 4.8 and 3.42 non posi, and was interested in getting Caltracs. Was wondering how you guys like them on your trucks and if they really help that much? Are they a worthwhile item to have on a daily driver with basic bolt-on mods and how will my truck handle with them in the snow, if anyone uses them on their truck in the snow? Thanks for all the help you can donate!!!!!!
