Default ABS pump??????

Has anybody here had problems with their ABS pump,EHCU. Mine the other night would not shut off.I pulled the key out of the ignition and the Damn thing was still running under the drivers seat. I had to crawl under the vehicle and unplugged the stupid thing. Now I have to run around with the ABS light and the Emerg. Brake Light on. Was just curious if anybody else has had the same problem. Thanks

I have heard that before. The cure is to buy a new pump/solenoid assembly. Lots O dollars! My ABS completely released one day. Pump turned off while I was rolling (after hard braking from a rough surface to a slippery one. GM says they design so that steering has preference over stopping

I had mine replaced last year. If you would have pulled the fuse the engine compartment instead of unplugging the unit the ABS and brake lights wouldn't have come on. Hopefully you have a cool dealership that will cover it because it's around $800 for a replacement.

GM trucks have a huge problem with these. The EBCM relay shorts and supplies power to the ABS motor pump at all times. The EBCM relay is located in the EBCM itself, so it can not be replaced by itself. The EBCM is around $600 dollars. If you are just out of your warranty you might try to argue with the dealer. It is easy to replace but, after you replace it you will need to calibrate the tire size. Do not unplug the EBCM, it is easy to remove the ABS 60 amp fuse under the hood.

Dr. Checkup- That is exactly what happened to me about 8 months ago. I did disconnect the pump as well, and have not worried about it since, but my wife will be driving the truck more now, and she is worried about the ABS, so I figured I'd better get it fixed. Anyone here have an idea of how much a new pump/solenoid assembly costs?
