Default Which AC oil filter?

I just changed the oil in my 03 Silverado 5.3 for the first time and found the AC Delco PF46 to be a real PIA to remove and replace due to its small size. I don't like small filters anyway and am concerned about flow capability. I found that the 02 models used a larger PF59, but the AC Delco site shows this filter application ending with the 02 models. Is there any reason I can't use the larger PF59 on my 03?

In a few more words, could you explain why...as far as I can tell, the 2002 has the same 5.3 as the 2003.

Low is 100% right
Use the PF 59 - I changed mine as soon as I got it home
Reason GM uses a 44 vs the 59 - I am not sure
The 59 also has an anti drain back valve if I am not mistaken.
Unsure of the 44

Thanks. I misunderstood Low's response in that I thought he meant it couldn't be used, but I did ask if there was any reason I can't use it, so I assume he meant no, there isn't. The only reason I can guess why the change is perhaps ground clearance, since the 59 would extend below the oil pan. But that would be a long shot to hit the oil filter and nothing else.

Go to the auto parts store and see which costs more, there is your answer.
