Well i know someone who has just what you described....And he has the dual stage to do it....That was the plan from the start , and we did it to have FUN. Kevin is plenty ballsy to do just that....It helps when he has friends who like to go fast and know how...
quote:
Originally posted by really slow truck:
well, it goes back to the issue of how balsy you are. i think 10s could be had for sure if someone would put together a forged motor in a truck and then put a MASSIVE shot on it (250-300) get race weight down to around 4000lbs and put out about 650rwhp on spray and there you go. There are plenty of ls1 guys that have made 650rwhp on normal computer.
just need to have more experimental people. a forged 408ci iron block can take you a long way
the thin holding most of the trucks back is the damn tranny. engine strength can be easily solved, but pushing this much weight through a tranny that can hold it as a daily drive is hard to get.

i really hope to see a time better than 12.5 on opening day(march 29th) but by then that may not even get me in the top ten the way things are going around here. it is prety impresive how everyone is steping it up ALOT lately or working on some serious projects.

Re: AHH! competition is high
ok if we all get into the 11's we need to go around and hunt down lightnings all day just to see the look on their faces if we get into the ten's then we will be able to beat any gen 2 lightning because the best they are able to dish out is 10.5 or so so lets' get them

Guys don't get ahead of your selves. Lightnings are extremely well built trucks don't forget. They handle great, stop great, look great, and are fast and hook up well. To get to the well rounded lightning you would have to completely redesign the chev truck. It will not do everything as good as a lightning, that's what makes it fun to beat one in a straight line...

its not hard at all to get your truck to beat a lightning in the straights, but i have to hand it to them on their suspension. its not too shabby
