Default Air/Fuel Ratio meter...

Hey guys, I am pretty new to the forum. I have been doing some research on building my own turbo and have learned a great deal from all of you, thanks!!! Anyways, i was readin some posts a couple days ag about the AEM UEGO controller, i see it is expensive too. SO i looked around and found this: Let me know if anyone has heard of it and your thoughts, thanks!!

Halmeter AF30 Technical Specs
The Dimensions are 4" long x 2" tall x .7 5" thick
Unit comes with double sided sticky Velcro mounts or it can be flush mounted by the method of your choice. It is very easy to work with and can easily fit into any car.

For those of you that seem to be buying them used without instructions or if you just lost yours here is how you hook it up....
.Red wire to Switched 12 volts
.Black wire to chassis ground
.White wire to 02 output
.White wire with Green strip. Do not use.

HALMETER AF/30

Air - Fuel Ratio Indicator

An essential part of tuning any high performance engine is knowing whether the air-fuel ratio is correct. A rich mixture will lead to a loss of power, while a lean mixture can result in, engine damaging detonation. There are several ways, some quite expensive, to assure an optimum air-fuel mixture. What has been lacking until now, is an inexpensive on-board indicator that gives you air-fuel ratio data while barely taking your eyes off the road or track.

The HALMETER AF3O Air-Fuel Ratio Indicator offers the tuner a Low-Cost, attractive unit with 30 LED indicators that signal lean-optimum-rich operation. The HALMETER AF3O Air-Fuel Ratio indicator works on all engines, carbureted or injected, and with gasoline, alcohol or propane fuels. When used with programmable EFI systems, it helps establish fuel maps and makes the mixture trim control a more precise tool for on-track tuning.

The HALMETER AF3O Air-Fuel Ratio Indicator kit comes complete with meter (in a rugged metal housing measuring 2" high x 4" long x 7/8" deep and weighing only 3.1 ounces), wiring harness, heated oxygen sensor and a fitting for installing the sensor in your exhaust pipe.

The HALMETER AF30/2 kit contains two oxygen sensors, with a change-over switch to enable the user to monitor both sides of a dual exhaust system.

The last Halmeter I had was a narowband setup. If it's a 1V sensor, don't bother. If it tapes into your existing sensors, don't bother.

You want a WIDEBAND or UEGO type A/F setup.

I know that it comes with a new senor, but I am not sure whether it is a 1V sensor or not, i will look into that.
Thanks

If you read this link to their brochure:
http://www.halmeter.com/Halmeter.img...0_Brochure.pdf

The scale used to reference the sensors voltage to the A/F level only scales to 1.2V.

Snake oil, don't buy it.

When I was trying to get my DynoTune air/fuel gauge+nitrous switch to work, I was trying to hook it up to the stock o2, and no matter where I tapped into the source wire the voltage would be too high...about 1.25 at WOT, made no sense, I tried a bunch of things and nothing worked so I returned it.

Get a true wideband setup.
