We have a 2002 2500 Chevy Avalanche with the 8.1L Big Block. After towing my Impala from Houston to San Antiono i figured out i need more power! Dont get me wrong this beast has plenty of go but as always i want more. So im looking ionto a air intake kit.

Ive found 4 but which is going to give the most HP and Tourque?

1. Volant Intake (box style with stock type square filter)

2. K&N FIPK (cone style with own heat box)

3. UPD Intake (new lid on stock box with square filter)

4. Air Raid (cone filter with own heat sheild)

Whats best? Also can i de screen my MAF?

 

I use the Volant on both of my 8.1s. I like the enclosed design so there isn't any induction noise.

Mike, did you ever get the info you wanted from UPD? I would definantly go with a closed system. I have gone from Airaid to K&N FIPK to UPD seeing better performance with each one. I just put a UPD on a friends truck and he loves it.
