Your engine will also run the best most of the time if you use a good tuner.
I would love to know who taught that phrase anyways? He must really know how to tune!

I wasn't really meaning it in a bad way, its just that's they way it seem to go sometimes. I've race stock cars for a long time and it always seemed like we would get it running great, and then "Bang" there goes the motor. That the first thing that when through my head when he first posted the insane numbers a while back, I just didn't say anything until now. I know he's a great tuner and not trying to dis him are anything, it just seems to go that way some times. There's been a number of time where we were leading and pulling away, and...well you know the rest of the story, we didn't finish, let alone win.

Jim, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't blow right by me

And any tuner, engine builder, racer ect. can have parts fail

I'd be inclined to agree that right around the time a car runs at it's very best it is usually on the ragged edge of disaster.

Having a good tune is great but if you push a car to it's max then you are inherently near the edge of detonation so it's only a matter of time..... If your motor lasts forever then you were not pushing it hard enough. LOL

Cool

If it's tuned right there can still be enough cushion put into a tune to keep your engine from their limits.
I made sure he left plenty of cushion in the tune Nelson put into my truck. As I was right next to him as he tuned my truck with his laptop.
We spent about two hours on it and finally got it where I liked it.
I see where you guys are all going with all of this, but you all need to lay off the man as you don't know the complete story on Nelson's 6.0 STS intercooled turbo power plant.
The 6.0 was had for about $300-$400 dollars. it is the 6.0 out of a 1500HD or 2500 P/U. The engine was used not new. He intergrated it into his single cab Silverado and then added the STS system with the additional boost. 10-12psi.
The non HO 6.0 was a lower CR, so it can handle more boost than the HO engine to an extent.
I mean come on guys, you take a used engine that is had for practically nothing and you then put FAI on it. If it fails over a short period of time, so what. You didn't really loose anything.
He has another 6.0L in the works, but that's all I need to say.
Hope you guys can lighten up a little.

I don't see anyone directly attcking him. I think you're taking the jibes too seriously.
