Default Aluminum 6.0l?

My 2005 Silverado has an all aluminum 5.3 liter engine. Does anyone know if the 2005 6.0 liter engines have aluminum blocks?

Default Truck 6.0 motors are not alum!

THey are not using alum blocks in 6.0 trucks yet!!! I just looked at a 05 2500 yesterday, same black painted iron block as I have in my 01.. oh yeah and they have not changed the 2500 to use the E fans like the 1500 trucks use... weird but I think they may feel the work type trucks don't need more complicated parts, just reliability...

I thought all the truck motors (4.8L; 5.3L; 6.0L) were iron blocks.

They were, or so I thought, up until 04 when the truck motors went all aluminum.

I know I saw this in more than one place, but the only reference I could find now is the Sept. 04 Chevy High Performance mag, pg. 122.

But I know I saw it elsewhere... if I find it, I'll post it.

But not having actually LOOKED at one in person, I'm only going by what I've read...

The only 6.0 blocks that are aluminum are the LS2. The 6.0 trucks are still iron blocks.

Not all truck blocks are aluminum in 04, they started the aluminum L33 option, my 04 5.3 is iron block. And all the regular option trucks will have the iron block still.
