Default another cam thread

Here it is do I go with 220/228 .581/.558 112LSA and stock converter.
or TSP 224R or TSP228R either with stall converter. This truck will be a DD so I don't want to over cam it. I'm not for sure I'll like the stall and DD combo.

well anything bigger than 212/218 will require a bigger convertor man.. with a stock convertor your truck is going to feel very week at the lower rpm's until it hits about 3,000 rpm you'll feel it wake up nicely.

It is all in what you want to have. I would go with atleast a 3k for anyone of them. You could get away with a stock verter with the 224, I did for awhile with no tuning, so if it is tuned it def can be run. Like said it won't feel like much with a stocker till it hits the powerband..

The 220/228 was what TSP recommended with the stock converter. They thought it would be fine with the 6.0L. The others would require stall.

I was just saying my personal pref was to go with atleast a 3k. I was very skeptical about putting a big stall in mine for DD. I am running a 224R. But when I was on the phone with yank, I said screw it and went 3200. Now I wish I would have went bigger, that is also with 410's out the back. It drives fine but you lose a tad of gas M in the city..

I could probably go with the TT3000 but thought I would like to keep some of my towing and hauling capability. I won't be racing that much and it is a heavy 4x4. Should I be looking for milder cam?

I did a 222/224 .566 .568 -112 in my 6.0 and I daily drove it for some time with the stock converter, and had no issues. It was drivin over 100 miles every day.

no track time what so ever.

If your wanting to really keep a stock stall, I would go with a lower duration cam like the 218-220 range. That would be a nice increase, you could run the stock stall no prob.. The 224 is a mild cam for the 6.0, but takes advantage of the bigger stall. I would have went bigger on the cam too, never personally been in a truck with the setup I was wanting, but didn't know. Live and learn I guess..

I'm just trying to research as much as possible. Don't really want to change the cam every other weekend. If I need the stall that will be fine. I haven't had a stall in any trucks I've owned. Will I like that? Better yet how will my wife like it.
