Oh Jesus don't get mike started on connections... PLAIN AND SIMPLE Slip fit in a stainless app is fine, will not get stuck or rusted together.. If you do buy a set of coated headers get ones with a flange style connection.. Slip fit//lap joint is basically your standard exhaust connections. They slid/slip into one another...

Here's some pics of my SW's with their slip fit connections, when used with band clamps, and a little high temp RTV for insurance, they will not leak. Don't use u-bolts with the slip fit joints or you will never get them apart as the pipes will crimp together. Honestly, these pipes fit so well that I probably didn't need the copper RTV, but it didn't hurt.

what a dumb question! I should have given that a second thought because I do not like the idea of slip fit either... it just seems like a flange is much better! One of the reasons I like those Ebay sets

Heres a slip fit Y pipe I made along with my SW headers.. They don't leak one bit. Like Billy said you don't even need to use any sealer..

I've had both, and I like the flanged collector to Y pipe connection MUCH better. They're easier to install and easier to remove. And the seal is perfect. The slip fit is acceptable, but it's inferior IMO.
