Another request for recommendations
I'm getting ready to add a cam, torque converter, and custom-tuned PCM to my truck and would really appreciate some recommendations from those of you who understand this stuff a lot better than me!
I have a '00 Sierra RCSB 4x4, 4.8L, 4L60E, 3.73 that is my daily driver with the following mods:
Volant Ram-air, Dynatech SuperMaxx system, Magnaflow single 3" in/single 3" out, Transgo shift kit and TA Performance rear girdle.
This truck will likely never see the strip (I'm 52+ years old and tired of repairing stuff) but I like to have fun with the truck also. Anyway, I'm interested in getting more low-to-midrange performance and am considering the following:
either the Lunati 55002 (212/221, .510/.510 116) or the Lunati 55003 (218/221, .526/.534 116), the Yank TT3000, and a dual-octane tune from Wester's.
As I understand it, the only difference between the two cams is the RPM range (1800-4800 vs 2000-5000) where the power is available. I'm leaning towards the 55002 to keep the power lower in the RPMs but I'd really like to hear ANYTHING that y'all can offer from what I've told you. I'm also wondering if I should go with a slightly lower stall. Any ideas?
Many thanks in advance!
