The volant is nice, I didnt notice much, then again at 4000ft i didnt really expect to. With the volant and corsa added I shaved about .15-.3 of my et if not more(base run 1/4 tank of gas- CAI,EX run full tank). The vera ram king cobra looks like it might be good. waiting hear more on it.

The screen is on the MAF to keep debrit from hitting the sensors. What could possibly be the advantage of removing it? And don't start with "it allows more air flow" Because the sensor is only going to allow a certain amount of air to pass.

I didnt think the sensor had a limit of airflow. Descreening it helped out mine!

Did you dyno it before and after? The little mettle piece in the middle of the MAFS is controlled by the computer so I would have to say it is regulated.

Thats not quite accurate... The MAFS itself is not controlled by anything. Rather it meters the air flowing through it and reports the result to the computer. It is initially calibrated to account for the screen in place. Removing the screen causes some people to show a slight lean condition because the value reported by the MAF to the computer does not take into account the slightly increased airflow.

Personally, I've done it on my brothers LT1 engine and it was removed by the previous owner on the T/A I just sold, but I don't feel the benefit is worth the potential lean condition and I don't intend to do it on my silverado ss.

Weeeell, yes and no The MAF descreening can work and it can royally be a pain in the ***. It works when there the airflow is relatively straight and non-turbulent. For air streams that *are* turbulent or have a bunch of bends, descreening the MAF can become a programmatic nightmare for tuning.

There is a limit on the amount of air a given MAF can meter, but descreening it won't reach that limit. A turbo on the other hand...
