I really like the idea of using the lighter half ton frame to keep the weight down. There's a guy on diesel place that has stuffed a d-max into a Tahoe, and I've seen it done to a half ton avalanche too, so i know it's not a huge stretch....motor mounts and body lift are the two big obstacles that i think those guys ran into, which aren't too bad. If the body styles were the same, all of the wiring and computers should swap from the donor to the half ton.

Thanks for the link. I'm thinking that a reg cab step side d-max would be sweet
I'm still curious what the fuel mileage would be...DuraBurb said on their 3/4 ton Suburban conversions they see about 10% better mileage, but that's still a heavy truck. How much does a stock RCSS weigh? I'm guessing a half ton reg cab stepside with the diesel would be somewhere around 4500 lb? So almost half the weight of the 7600 lb monster I'm driving right now, which is averaging around 18mpg.
If the increase isn't that much I'd probably be better off building a turbo gasser, but if I could get up into the 30's the diesel would be pretty tempting.

3.23 gears with the dodomax in a 1500 RCSB, yea that would be sweet!
There was a guy down in LA that had blue or black 1500 with the DODOmax. i rem it was spinning the wheels inside the slicks. it was either blue with black ghost or black with blue ghost flames??
