Default anyone ever run a stock muffler with no cats?

just doing a little thinking for my next project, i want quiet, stealth/stock look. i also want some electric cut outs. it would be real easy to put the cut outs right where the cats are. if i could get the cut outs before the cats that what i would do but there is no room. so back to my question, anyone run no cats with a stock muffler? how loud?

I toyed with the idea of cutting off my cats. I wonder too how much louder it would be. Might just have to break out the sawzall and hack them off. Then see how crappy my welding skills are.

I am TTT this because I want to remove the cats but I don't want it to be loud as f*#@ either.

Thats my plan. My SS has standard 2.5" pipes that merge into 2.75" pipes a couple feet before going dual into the muffler. I've got my ASMs modded for the 3" collector, then mandrel bent 3" back to an X pipe, then cutouts before going into the stock 2.75" pipes. If its too loud, I'll weld in some 3" bullets where the cats used to be. I'll leave the stock 3.5" single exit pipe and SS tip.

Also, I think thats what old Oxidizer used to have on his truck. I remember seeing the cutouts where his cats used to be, but the rest was stock pipe I'm pretty sure.

A friend of mine had a similar setup (lapole headers, !cats, cutout, stock catback) and it was still really quiet.

Its pretty raspy. My buddy did it and his muffler kept making a rattling sound at ~2000 rpm. We installed bullets and it helped some. He wasnt too happy with the setup.

A friend of mine has a '02 Camaro with a built motor and an x1 cam. He has the stock muffler and no cats, and you can hardly tell he has a cam. I know it is a camaro and not a truck, but I would assume that a truck would be even more quiet than stock camaro muffler. The stock truck muffler is very large, so I would assume that there is more packing inside.
