Anyone know any details about the 6.0 that is in the Med Duty Isuzu trucks??
I worked for a Med Duty Isuzu dealer as a mechanic about 5 years ago. At that time, they 1 1/2 ton trucks had 5.7 Vortecs as the gas option. I saw a new one on thier lot yesterday, and it had a sticker saying it had the 6.0 LS engine in it. I called my former boss and asked if they had any wrecks on the lot, he said they were getting one later this week, Brand new 6.0 with 8200 on the clock. He said I can have it for $800, if I come pull it out. No biggie.
Anyone know the specifics on this engine? I looked on the net, but came up blank. Isuzu rates it at 340hp. I assume it has a pretty low RPM cam in it, but what im wondering about is the compression. I dont mind swapping cams, but I dont want to dig into the short block.
BTW: This engine would replace the 5.3 in my 06' ECSB.

Hp seems a bit down, at least on the rating anyhow. Or were the LQ4s rated at 300?

Nontheless, I am going to get it next week. Most likely gonna do a cam swap while its out and easy. After that, just have a tune done and roll like that. Ill post some pics and let yall know how it goes.
