Default APE Project SS Silverado!

Hey guy's, here ya go. We are just finishing up Stage I of our project SS Silverado. This truck has one of our 408's in it along with a magnacharger pushing 5lb's of boost. I should be able to get you guy's some dyno numbers later in the week. We have a very small cam in her right now, 220/224 114 lsa, .581" lift. We wanted to get the best drivabilty we could and low end torque. The end goal with this truck is to get it to run mid 11's. If we can't get it down there with the magnacharger we have a ATI D-1 for it.
BTW, the truck rides on 22's and all testing will be done with them, gotta have the bling factor! I will keep you posted.

Thanks,
Chris

Also the truck has a set of Dynatech headers, Corsa Touring cat back system and a Yank 2800 converter.

I have a smaller pulley for the magnacharger sitting here. Just want to get the baseline first.

Thanks,
Chris

Wow, that great Chris. I'm sure that many of us are looking forward to the dyno numbers. What size pulley is currently on to make 5psi? Even with 5psi and a good tune, it should run pretty strong.

Whats the plan for the transmission?

this is prety cool. there has been some debate on how much power a small blower can make on a well flowing stroker motor. basicly my line of thinking based on the compresor charts have been that the blower wont give you a lot of power up top since it can only move so much air. can't wait to hear the numbers.

Torque should really be sweet with the big cubes, eaton blower and small cam. Its going to really test out the transmission.

Try to dyno with it locked in gear and get really low torque numbers. For us truck guys, that 2000+ rpm torque is very important.

I saw a Whipple on a 502 chevy a few weekends ago. It looked like the same Eaton(?) blower as the Magnacharger.

Anywho. This APE setup would be my final goal for my truck. It makes me sick that people can just whip these things together in no time flat. I'll be saving for YEARS here.

here is one of those links from awhile back https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...=radix+whipple lots of garbage to sort thru but there are some good questions in there too that might get answered by Chris.

The exterior of the two blowers look similar. The technology underneath the skin is different. The whipple and the Kenne Bell use the same blower technology, which is more efficient. The Eaton magnacharger is similar to what Ford uses on the lightning. Thats one reason you see the L owners moving to the KB when they have maxxed out their stock blower.
