Well, thanks for all the feedback guys. I picked up new MLS gaskets, and studs/nuts today and the headers are on now. As always, the ARH slips into place so easily. Best fitting headers I know of.

Once the 65E is back together and in the truck, I'll get the Y-pipe in and fit the 4" exhaust. Feedback and vids will be soon to follow.

Food for though... this is how I did my tail pipe cutting/welding from the Edelbrock d-max kit.

I would also recommend getting some better band clamps than the one shown on the collector in your pic if you are going to be using a slip fit connection.

Roger, this is the exact setup I've been looking for. Are those 1 7/8" primaries? Also, is your truck 4x4? I'm wondering about front driveshaft clearance. Also, would you mind PM'ing me some part numbers for the headers, y-pipe and catback? Thanks.

I going to run a 4" dynomax race bullet in front of a big 4" Magnaflow. Would be nice and quiet at idle but roar under power with little drone, much like I have with my current 3".

Thanks for the pics, I'm going to try to "hide" my tailpipe also, maybe a little plack paint will help.

Yes, they are 1 7/8" primaries, and yes, my truck is 4x4. When you order your headers, tell Mike you have a 4x4. They will fit. These ARH headers are by far the best fitting headers I've dealt with, and they slip into place very easily. I'll post pics when this is all done.

Okay guys, here's an update. Finally got the tranny back, installed it and the headers. There was a mixup somewhere, and ARH sent me one wrong piece. A couple phone calls later, and an e-mail with some pics, and it was decided that the left half of my new y-pipe was the wrong one. They were Prompt to ship me a new pipe, which I recieved today.

Pic of the wrong pipe.

The guys at ARH were easy to deal with, and got me the right pipe. Everything fits like a glove. Now I need time to get the Duramax exhaust system on.

Here's some header ****:

Ya, but if I was somewhere that I was gonna need to have them, I'd just get the catted y-pipe from ARH with the headers. I think it's only an extra $100 or so.

BTW, the truck is loud as **** with open headers.
