that sounds about right. you will have to change your belt. is this the ud and the alt pulley or just the ud pulley? eitherway, go to the asp website and it will tell you the belt you need.

I Bought One From Thunder Racing About A Year Ago. I Think I Paid The Same
Maybee A Lil More. In The Instructions In The Box It Comes In It Has The Part # For The Belt U Need.very Easy To Install. I Noticed A Lil Difference, But Not Worth The Money To Me. I Was Told That The Alt Pulley Doesnt Make A Difference Unless U Have A Standard. Plus I Used To Have A Huge Amp That Would Drain My Alternator And I Didnt Want To Burn It Up, So I Sold It And My K&n Fipk Ii To My Freind With A 2000 Model Truck Like Mine Except A 2wd And He Put Them Both On At Once And He Said He Noticed A Huge Difference. So Go For It My Heavy 99 Is Slow Anyways, Lol

this is a very debatable topic for the trucks. imo yes it is worth it. did i feel any sotp, yes. at the time of install i had minimum mods. homebrew cai, plugs and wires, crappy exhaust and some free mods. i might have had efans at that point as well. but i installed the pulley and i could get a scratch from the tires taking off. i had 3.42 gears at the time. the 3-2 or 2-1 downshift became more powerful as well.

i think i lost a tenth or 2 at the time as well but it wasn't a scientific testing. meaning, i didn't go to the track run my truck, do the install and run it again.

if someone has every bolt'on out there but this one, then you might not notice any gain. and some people have charging problems. i don't.

I think tbyrne was selling a setup that included belt and crank bolt for about that same price, may be a touch more.

My brother installed as ASP UD pulley a while a back and we felt a nice SOTP gain. Even my father felt it when he drove the truck. I think its worth getting. I read a thread where they dynoed a truck with a pulley and gained 12 hp.

Here is the link. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...sp+pulley+dyno Thread #16

that would mean its faster if he lost a tenth or two. like say 14.8 to a 14.6 that would be faster
