Attention Whipplers!
FYI- For those of you running a Whipple that uses the separate belt system, I have sent in a lower pulley to ASP so they can make a blueprint, then make up a custom pulley. The stock one was like 6 1/4" with 9 ribs-they are making me a 7 1/2" with only the 6 ribs that are needed. Should look better, allow for more boost/less slippage (because of being able to run a larger pulley up top) After we get it made up and verified to fit anybody will be able to call up and order one. Mine is going to cost $250, not sure if subsequent ones will be less. They said it might be about 4 weeks, so I will try and take a pic or 2 when it comes in.

are you having sliping issues? i had the 2 belt set up and ran as small as a 2.5" pully and didn't get any slip. also with the 2.5"pully the blower is all ready geting up into the rpm's, something like 2000rpms faster then whipple recomends all ready, spin it any faster and it may be to the point of diminishing returns.

Yeah, I have a 2.75 on the top and I see rubber dust around the pulley on the blower bracket. Sometimes I get close to 10 lbs, sometimes only around 7. I figure it must be slipping sometimes. I already tried a gatorback and that seemed to help some.

i think the dust is normal, mine would slip and let out a chirp when i let off the gas from WOT, i think it took a sec for the bypass valve to open. the diferent boost numbers are kind of odd though, i would see diferent boost levels sometimes but only at drasticaly diferent temps, like when it was around 20deg i would get more boost.
$250 for a custom pully seems preaty cheap to me.
