Auburn limited slip is in!!!
I'm about to go test drive it. I left it one the jack stands and put it in drive, and it seemed to sound and turn fine. Let's hope it does as well on the road.

I just ran it for a while and it is going well! It is as quite as can be and is smooth. I can't wait for the break-in time to be over, so I can see the acceleration I've been waiting for!
How long did you all wait before you ran it hard? That 500 miles seems like forever!

I blew up an auburn pro series. I'll never buy another product from them. I hope you have better luck than I did. FWIW...the auburns don't seem to like leaving the line at 4000rpm's on slicks.

I don't plan on trying to leave at 4K on slicks........ But hey, if I blow it, I'll take a few hours and replace it. It's free for a year anyway.
I think I'll give it 200 miles.... That is all I can wait!

I think the pro-rate is for a few years after the first year that is free replacement....
I think it is a good deal, and is the only reasoin I went with the Auburn and didn't wait for an Eaton to come available at a decent price.
If I bust it in the next year, it cost me some gear oil, and 4 hours. Not a big deal.

I didn't replace the gears.... I stuck with the 3.42s. I figure if I want to step up in the future, I can spend the few hours and do it. Two good heat cycles - ehh? I've driven it twice so far. .......must ....resist....temptation....
Rear end work is pretty simple. A lot of these guys made it sound like something that is next to impossible for the DIY mechanic.
