AWD 4l60e same as 4x4 4l60e?
Is the Escalade AWD 4l60e the same as a 4x4 4l60e? I found a 6.0 engine and trans out of a 2003 Escalade but I'm dropping it into a 4x4 so I need the 4x4 output shaft. Anybody happen to know about the AWD 4l60e? Any info is much appreciated.
Thanks

Its gonna take a lot of work to drop it in that truck.
Sorry I cant really help you out on finding a shop, but there are a lot of guys in this area so im sure someone will be able to help

I'm going to be using the 6.0/4L65E combo out of an Escalade. I'll be keeping the NP205 Tcase. I believe the Advance Adapters 4L60E/NP205 adapter will still work for the 4L65E as it was stated before that the 65E and 60E had the same externals just different internals. Any help is much appreciated.

I didnt know they made an adapter for the newer 6 bolt trannies, but they do.
Also even if the output shafts are different, It doesnt matter because you are gonna replace the output shaft anyways. Their kit uses a replacement output shaft that is a little shorter to make it all fit right. Depending on what 205 you have you will need a few other parts as well.
Sounds like a fun project.
If you have any other questions let me know. Im pretty familiar with the setup you have

Thanks for the info. I have the stock 1972 NP205. Yeah it's going to be one heck of a project, way beyond me. That's why I'm going with a shop to do the swap. A lot of people ask why I'm doing it. I planned on installing an OD transmission and Fuel Injection and building a motor that would put 450 to the flywheel anyway. When you add up the cost of doing that to the old style engine it'll be pretty close to what I'm going to have in this swap. I might as well get the more efficient motor and trans. Plus the cool factor of doing something that to my knowledge hasn't been done before.
