Default back pressure help

OK, I have a 04 SCSB 5.3, an I recently installed dual exhaust on it an I lossed to much low end I belive.
I used to have the shortty headers into stock Y pipe into just the stock tail pipe with one Torpeto pack(or something simular to a glass pack I think), an it had great bottom end an even on top end it still flowed great.
But I just thought maybe with dual exhaust it might run better, at least on top end. An I was wrong.

I now am running shortty headers into true dual exhaust with a magnaflow X pipe an two (1)chamber flows. I love the sound but I need bettom end power. Its opening good on topend. But it doesent even feel like its pulling untill it hits at least 3000RPMs or higher. An it used to put me back in the seat even on the bottom end.

So anyways, What can I do to regain that lost bottom end? Should I just go back to something simular to stock or what?

BTW, my mods are: AEM intake, pullys, Nelson Tune, E fans, Shortty headers, an N2O 100 dryshot

What size pipe was used for the dual exhaust? If it was 2.5", try going to 2.25". or Keep the pipe and put on a little more restritive muffler, try a 40 series Flowaster if you still was it kind of loud.

when you add less restrictive exhaust with bigger piping you lose exhaust gas velocity and scavenging at lower rpm, thats what your feeling, you can change up the tuning to help regain back your low end torque. or look into getting a converter. ctschevy had the same problem,

How does ur truck sound bigbody? I was thinking about going with 1 chambers. My friend has a 99 silverado 5.3 reg. cab swb with a programmer, tb spacer, k&n, and true dual 40 series with 2.5'' pipes out the back and he doesnt have a x-pipe or h-pipe and his truck is pretty damn mean. But its too quiet for me at idle but really i dont care cause when he floors it man it gets really mean and agressive sounding. He doesnt have headers either. It will fly.

I am runing 2.5" pipe all the way. But I still want more power down low, What can I do?

HINK9, How or what do I change on my tuning to help regain the lost lowend?

99Silverado327, An yes my tuck is very loud, I belive anyone would love the sound of it. But you better install some kind of a X pipe, cuse you will lose lowend forsure. If it matters to you.

Come on guys, give me alittle more advise, I know everyone post stupid exhaust questions but I really cant decide what to do.

Should I just go back to something closer to stock?
Or change my tune up so it can help the lost lowend?

IM just afraid if I change my tune up to help the bottom end, then ill losse power on top or somewhere else, you know what I mean?
Just throw some more ides my way if you can guys.

You change the tuning in the PCM with some sort of tuning software(Westers, Nelson, etc) and that is probably the best way to regain the low end you are missing. Changing your exhaust out may require that you sacrifice something that you like and then MAYBE you might gain some of the low end back. I would just take the truck to a capable tuner in your area.

OK well i THOUGHT i replied but its not on here. hmmm wonder what happened? Well anyway some might not believe me but i say add a throttle body spacer. I added one 100 miles ago and it has helped on my bottom and top end. It made my exhaust deeper and a lil louder. I accelerate a lil fast too and better shifts. I have a programmer, airaid intake, true duals with 2.5'' pipes and 40 series orig. flows out the back w/4'' out tips 18'' long. I wanted to go out the sides at 45 deg. but too many rocks and **** around here. My friend has the same setup. We both have 5.3's. Pretty damn sweet. SO i say go with 40 series true duals with 2.25 or 2.5'' pipes. My friend and i dont have x-pipes or h-pipes and we have all kinds of bottem end power. i have to let off my gas if i give it a lot of throttle lil above a 1/4-up. And they pick up speed verrrrrrrry fast. I cant remember what else i said cause thats been a few hours since i relpied and it disepeared. O well.....
