are bad intake manifold gaskets common?

I think HirdleJ is having some problems with his intake gaskets on his stock truck manifold also...both of you guys have had the intakes on and off a few times...I have a feeling that these gaskets aren't as "reusable" as a lot of people say, at least not the intake gaskets I guess. Fix the mechanicals first, then go after the tune. Even for $65, it's worth it to have the piece of mind and eliminate the one possibility to help aid in your diagnosis. While you're messing with the manifold, you might want to replace the throttle body gasket also since you've had the throttle body on and off a few times.

Yep, I plan on doing that as well. $75 in gaskets...damn, that seems like a lot. But if I can get this stupid thing running right it will be worth it.
I'll need the fuel disconnect tools too to change out the gaskets right? And I guess I'll also need to buy an inch pounds torque wrench
