Default Bad Speedo or VSS?

My spedometer does not move smoothly. It moves more like the second hand on a clock and if i spin the tires it will go up around 35 and act like thats 0. It will say im doing 75 when im doing 40 or so and only resets itself back to zero after turning the truck on and off several times any feedback would be helpful.

Do I just need a new Speedo (would be getting an Escy Cluster if so, or is there somin wrong with my vehichle speed sensor)

On another note if i get an Escy cluster will the trany temp gauge work or does it have to be tuned in or hardware added to my 60e?

I had your same problem. The VSS will throw a code, also an easy way to check is to see if your odometer is still working. If it is, its the cluster. Mine speedo motor in the cluster died so I replaced it with a 06 SS one. The tranny guage will work as soon as you plug the new cluster in. Why they didnt put it in the 1500s is a mystery...

Bad cluster. The motor that drives the speedo needle is bad. Common problem, I see at least one a week at the dealer.
