Default basic performance questions

sup guys...i've just been a lil curious. how much exactly can the stock parts on a 1500 take horsepower and torque wise? if i get one i don't plan on doing a whole lot to it. prolly heads/cam n exhaust. enough to get me into the 300-350rwhp range. i'd prefer a regular cab which means a 6L is out (stock at least) unfortunatly. but i know the 5.3's n 4.8's are just as good. i'd also like suggestions maybe on the type of cam to use...i was thinkin a 224/224 but not real sure.

you better get ready to get a custom tune or buy edit or hp tuners. prolly a stall with that cam as well. then you will have to get a shift kit and servo to go with it all. good luck.
