no doubt. that sounds like a bit of a pita! you could kill the ECM power but it might not like it.

will do Flyer.

ya where I run they are a bunch of hicks. I think I will just mount a kill switch but not even wire it up. They will see that I have one and let me roll on through. Killing the PCM power is not good.

Flyer said: "Kinda ... This would definantly look better and look more factory like. You don't by chance have a part number do you? What about wiring, is there a factory wiring kit for this too?"

I have had trouble finding the GM part number. As far as wiring goes, if you are just relocating the battery, you would just need to replace and relocate the battery cables.

If you wanted to add a second battery, I think there is some factory wiring already in place. I'm pretty sure there is a signal wire to activate the aux battery relay. It's that little unused connector right beside the A/C filter drier. I believe that connector sends a 12V signal to turn on the aux battery relay after the ignition switch is on. I was considering doing this on my '00 5.3L, but never got around to it.

For aftermarket parts, I did find these guys...

They sell a kit with the battery tray and wiring for the dual battery setup.

The whole idea of moving the battery was clearing up that space where it is. That would be an ideal spot for the RADIX intercooler since the E-fans did away with the shroud the instruction manual says mount it to. I think it would really clean up the engine compartment too.

I like moving it to the side. That would be a really clean install if done correctly and look factory. I like moving it to the bed too, but that would look more ghetto if ya know what I mean, and I'd be come kinda pissed if I came out tot he truck and hit the clicker and nothing happened only to get close to the truck and find the battery box is GONE. I'd be ready to cap some ***.

OK ... got some part numbers.

It looks like there is one bracket that is needed. It replaces the bottom support bracket. The part number is 15705102. From what I can tell of the cluttered picture, that's all that's needed. I was told 35 from one dealer and 25 from another. I wanted to look at the picture some more before I ordered.
