Default Belt squeal

I am getting what sounds like a belt sqealing during the 1-2 shift at WOT. Anybody have a clue as to what it might be?

It's the belt squealing. Doesn't hurt anything. Your engine slows down during the shift faster than the accessories can slow down, so something slips a little and squeals.

I had this w/ the combo of new alternator (bigger 160A) and the shift kit...My stock alt is back on now (rotor went bad...wrangler repaired under warrentee, but just haven't put back on) and no problem...I think if I install a longer belt w/ the bigger alternator, all will be well.
Good luck.

Mine used to do it on the shifts but not since i changed belts. I went with a goodyear gatorback. No more belt slip when it shifts, however I do have some belt whine, but it sounds good. Everyone thinks its coming from the charger so i dont say anything different
