Default Benefits & Detriments of No Muffler/No Cats

Hey guys, I've had no cats for a long time now, love it! But about 3 months ago, I removed my muffler also and replaced it with a 3' Y pipe and stepped down to 2 1/4 tail pipes into my 4' Tips. I thought I lost a bit of bottom end torque, but a massive improvement on top. Anyone else have and input?

I've got dynatech longtubes, gutted cats and straight pipes.
I did notice a loss in low end power when it was just straight pipes, stock cats and manifolds, but after I did the header gutted cat combo, I made up for that loss.
