Nope, its not going to be that easy. Here is a pic I took of the LS2 intake with the longer bosch LS1 injectors and a 97 C5 fuel rail. The rail sits on the top of the manifold and the injectos need another 3/8" to seat fully. No way the truck injectors would fit in this setup. Its going to need some custom rails to work.

Well, an 04 or 05 truck with the returnless system could run the LS2 fuel rail.

You could get the truck rails and injectors mounted, but its an ugly beast when complete:

I agree with this part, but not with the rest.

Besides the better flowing intake of the LS2, here is another payoff for those of us willing to give it a try:

It wasn't taken that way at all.....and after re-reading what I wrote (I was walking out the door to go to work and was typing in a hurry) I realized that it was kind of harsh.....

Just got me an LS6 Intake for my project. But like was said above... I will be going for 450+ to the wheels when done on motor.

I haven't posted much on my set up since I'm still working on a couple of things. I'm running the 90mm FAST intake on my 427 and can definitely feel a difference from the truck intake. Granted, I actually need all the air I can get. With the truck intake, my power would start to drop off at about 5200 RPM's. With the FAST, my power doesn't drop off. I shift at 6300 RPM's. Also, my 60ft's are down from 1.82's to consistent 1.75's. These times should improve when I resolve my lifter issues that I'm having. Once I get everything done (in about 2 weeks) I'll do my best to get some pics of the setup and try to answer questions about the swap.

Richard, couldn't you get a crossover tube made?

Scream - Yes you can. I had a couple of ideas. One is to take the existing truck crossover and cut each side off just before the first bends. Then braze on some smooth 90* elbows and connect each side with fuel hose. Could be done with AN fittings and braded line if desired. You'd still have the bulky rails though.

I think a better look would be using the 97 C5 rail I have, cutting the crossover tube at the sides so the injectors will seat fully. Then use black fuel hose to connect them. Then it would have a clean factory look and proper low profile side rails.

Custom billet side rails could be used with an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator to feed the return line. More expensive, but very cool.

I personally think this is valid... I'm runnnig a cam with similar specs, and I'm not crazy about my top-end performance. I see my scanned 'delivered engine torque' level out at 400-410 ft/lbs around 4,000-4,500rpm. I'm not sure if I'm correct here, but I'd expect it to keep building with RPM's. It's only really noticeable by SOTP at the track, when I'm winding out second gear.

My 220/220 112 definitely had more up top... but unfortunately I didn't scan any power output at the time. I can't say for sure if it was cam specs vs cam specs that caused it... or if it's possibly an intake design thing.

I'll be picking up a LS6 or a used LSX over the winter... I'm planning on running LS1 heads too - so I wanted a proven/matched setup. I'd ideally like to do the swap all at once, but I also like to feel results from individual mods. Maybe I'll build the intake and get it on before-hand.
