bent axle flange?
Hey guys, had a little mishap over the weekend. I swerved to dodge some honda that cut me off... roads were a little wet, and ended up doing a 180 into a curb (hit the curb sideways). Of course he took off... anyways...
I toasted both passenger side wheels (took a 5-6 inch chunck off the rear bead, and still holds air!). I have a very nasty brake pulsation now, and you can hear the rotor scraping the pads while driving slowly. Took rear wheel off and could easily see that the outside of the rotor is getting chewed (about a 4 inch section). So the rotor is toasted also... what I want to know is... what are the chances of the axle flange also being bent? Seems like the easiest way to check would be to take off the rear caliper, rotated the rotor 180 degrees and see if the other side gets chewed... ie then axle is the major problem, not just to rotor. Does this seem logical?
I guess the best way would be to check the runout of the flange... now I just need some time and tools! awg...
sorry for the long post

I rotated the wheels, so I know it isn't a bent rim.
6Gear, Do you mind if I ask where you got that new axle from? Just did a quick search.. looks like it will be $100 for the rear rotor alone, ouch! Also, how much runout did your flange have?
So all the 99+ axles are the same? 2x4 or 4x4? what about mixing 1500 (mine) and 2500? These are all c-clip rear end, correct?
Thanks for the quick help!
