Default best cam for yukon?

I have a stock 2003 Yukon, 4.8 with 3.42 gears.
Not looking for radical, just more TQ and midrange.
Plan to have a Blackbear tune at the same time, has Flowmaster exhaust and CAI. Other than that, untouched.
Also, with cam, will just the springs need changed?

thanks in advance.

Talk to justin about the cam he just put in his wife's tahoe, they both really like it!! I believe it is a 206/212 .515/.525 @ 112... Since that is his personal vehicle I am sure he has the tune dialed in, so it should run pretty damn good!!! Just my .02....

im puttin a z06 cam and springs in. that would be cheap and effective! pretty much every cam needs the springs to be changed. the specs are 204/211 .525/.525 116 which is just a tad diiferent than the one above but will only cost around 150 instead of 300 or so.

sweet! How will it work still retaining stock converter and gears? The 4.8 in these big SUV's are just not enough IMHO, but hopefully with a cam change and tune, it will be.

So the Z06 cam is pretty much a direct replacement, I can use the stock lifters, and swap springs?

thanks again, good info on this site.

stock gears and verter should be just fine with it. i wont be changing my verter out but i will be changing to 3.73 with the swap. its not needed but i wanna go faster. the z06 cam swap is cheap and effective and the ls6 springs are only about $50 and are good to .550 lift so you will have no problems with her at all

I thought something like a 206/212 was supposed to be a "torque monster." how could it have no ***** down low?

I believe it has to do with the lobe design and most importantly the LSA... The comp is on a 112+2 and the GM is 116+?....
