where do you live? Maybe there is a member in your area that can let you drive his truck with a blower on it??

Radix will be the best way to go for everyday drivability and ease of assembly. For all out power (throwing drivability, ease of assembly, huge converter stalls, and custom tuning) it is hard to out do the ATI. My ATI made sick power but, I spent weeks and weeks tuning it.
Save some more money and buy a Radix.

I agree with the Radix for everyday driving. I needed injectors, and lots of tuning, and still need to work on timing tables. The centrif's have to be wound up to get some power. Great blower overall. VERY noisy(rattly as well as the whine)
No mechanical probs what so ever with the blower itself. Very good higher rpm power

vortech does make one that you could add an aftercooler set up to which should be easy since they make it for the 6.0 half ton's. that'd be my choice if you're going to be doing future mods. if the blower and mild mods will be enough for you, i'd say go radix.

Vortech's aftercooler setup is 1800 to 2000 more than the kit!! I guess maybe it would be justified on apps that were planning on running very high boost (if it could still keep the IAT's down). Vortech said that the kit I got would go 18-20# on a 5.3 or about 15# on a 6.0. That sounds about as likely as a 30 hp gain on a catback, but Im no expert. Im just going to run an SMC kit and see how much boost I can run until I blow something on the 5.3. I probably wouldve been alot happier if I had done a little more research and gotten the Radix or better yet one of these sick turbo's.
I think the popularity of different forms of FI on this board are pretty much directly correlated to their respective abilities. The Radix was top dog for a long time and for good reason. Now there is a new top dog. If you havent already picked one, save for the Turbo!!
Also the install time for the aftercooler alone is quoted at 12 hours as per Vortech!!!

doesn't the radix pump 6psi with the stock pulley? What other boost denominations are there with different pulleys (7-9psi, 13psi, etc..)? What do I need to do to my trans to make it last. I'm panning on going to a junk yard for a 4L60E and building it up. What things do I need to upgrade it to hold the power of the radix? Thanks for all the info.

i love my turbo and would buy it again but i WOULD NOT recomend it to other people at this point. If you can wait then yes wait for the turbo kits to get refined but if not the radix is the best current set up.
