Exclamation Best Engine Stand???

Anyone have any suggestions? I have a plain Jane stand but I am looking for a nicer one. Maybe a newb question but I'm serious about it.

I have a very basic 3 wheel stand, but I also have one like this that I like much better.

A gear driven unit like this one from Northern Tool isn't too bad and priced decently enough. They have others as well, but this one is rated to hold 1250lbs and actually cost a little less than another one of their models that is only rated to 1000lbs. Never the less they have plenty of options.

I like the 4 leg stands myself, I have an OTC stinger that was fairly inexpensive.

OTC has a very good line of professional grade stands, some are out ouf the reach of a lot of do it your-self-er's out there, but as you said, they do have some catered to the average person. The stands they have for diesel engines are just bad ***.

I believe that the OTC "Stinger" line of gear is their less expensive stuff...I also have a Stinger floor jack that I bought when I needed it in a pinch when my Craftsman jack took a dump. The jack is eh, OK, but not the best...but it works, used it all weekend during the trans swap
