First, yes I have a 5.3, and have 4wd.
2003 Xcab Z71. 3:73 rear I believe.
Ive got the longtubes and 3" cats/mufflers sitting, not on yet. The longtubes/cats are definitely going on, but 3" after cat is still to be decided, as I want a s/c later on.
I heard the rocker arms can give around 30hp gains, which is why I mentioned them.

THanks for finding my old thread, posted 3 of them, and couldnt find them anymore.

Ive talked with a couple people on the LS2 stock cam, and they said it would be a torque monster down low. I mean, I dont mind the cam starting at ~1500 (which is where the Torquer v2 from Texas Speed starts (1800) ).
I was told the 02-04 Z06 doesnt have any ***** under 3k also.
i was looking for a stock pull-out cam, but now kinda looking at an aftermarket, like the Torquer 2, 228R, or something along those lines.
I want more than mild, but not major/race stuff. Just whatever extra low-end I can get with a LOT of midrange gain, because most pulling/driving is in the midrange. its rare to see my truck go over 4.5k-5k rpms.
But keep in mind, If I want to race, Ill go get another car. This is pulling/DD only. The S/C is really for the MPGs. A friend put on on his 08 5.3, and it doesnt kick down anymore, netting 3-4mpgs on trips.

Gah, the more I look, the more choices I have!

I dont plan on putting anything bigger than 33s on the truck. and might go to 4.10s, but idk yet.
THanks for the input! I appreciate it.

Maybe your friend also had the PCM reprogrammed which completely changes the kickdown settings? Talk to Mr. Wheatley or the tuner of your choice about getting a tune optimized for towing.

once the cam, exhaust, and intake are on...there will be a tune.

Probably going to TSP for it, as I live about 5 min away.

i would also suggest the 212/218, since i used to have it on my ecsb z71 5.3, and it ran damn good, i would NOT go any smaller than that.....

If that were the case we'd all be swapping in new rockers

Don't bother, just get a cam that as a little bit higher lift.

You can't use any of the GENIV cams in the GENIII engines. That throws out all of the LS2 or LS3 cams (and the C6 cam you talked about in your first post). They do not have provisions for the cam sensor on the back since the newer engines pick up the cam position off the cam gear up front.

If you're considering a s/c and a cam for towing, I would put a Radix on your truck and get a Lingenfelter GT2-3 cam to go with it. There have been several people on the boards here run this setup with very good results. It is a proven combo.

No, there are not
http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/th...1_ls2_ls7.html

Recently, GM introduced the Gen IV small-block V-8, 50 years after the first small-block appeared. This engine is available in V-8-equipped models of the '05 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT, GMC Envoy XL, GMC Envoy XUV, and in the soon-to-be-released '06 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and Impala. The new LS2 and LS7 Z06 engines are part of this engine family.

A friend who works at the dealership has given me this info, so I know it to be true. They still have provisions for the sensors.

This engine is configured in four displacements, 293 (4.8L), 325 (5.3L), 346 (5.7L), and 364 (6.0L)

The LS2 only has one displacement, 6.0L. The lineup you have given there looks like a lineup of Vortec truck motors, which means that the 6.0L is an LQ4/LQ9 iron block GENIII V8 6.0L engine. Please check your facts before you get a smartass attitude.

*edit* - that actually looks like a full lineup of GENIII engines, with the 5.7L being the LS1/LS6.
