Default Best shift points for aftermarket cam?

I have a 2003 gmc sierra Reg Cab 5.3 3.73 posi. Bolt ons. I have a comp cam 204-218 551 551 112lsa. I was just wondering what the best shift point would be. I Shift at 6400 right now. Please let me know what you think. Thanks, Jared

6400 sounds bout right, im running the low lift 212/218 and i shift at 6400 1-2, and 6300 2-3

I'm sure even running it up to 6700 wouldn't hurt, lots of guys spinning the 5.3 in this area with no problems.

set it at 6500 and see if the truck falls off, then adjust as you see it. my 5.3 with a 220/224 .585.588 113+4 stops pulling at 6300 on all the shifts. the truck actually needs gears to make it worth driving.

Ya I know, I am just looking for a starting point. This is my first 5.3. I have had ls1's and 6.0's but no modded 5.3's. It is still pulling good at 6400 so maybe I will try a little higher.
