its so much more of a pain to work around long tubes so i really want to stick with shortys. besides im really just wanting the sound of them
i was looking at jba and i got theirplug wires that are the right length for their headers but i was just making sure the cheap like summit brand werent basically the same

I had Gibson shorties and now have StainlessWorks LT's and I can tell you that the perfomance difference alone is worth the long tubes, especially something like the SW's or DynaTechs that you can get a catted y-pipe for to make it a direct bolt in with no fabrication needed (if emissions are a concern).
As far as room to work, my SW's actually allow more room than my shorties did. Spark plugs are easier to replace, and there's more room on the driver's side next to the steering shaft. My shorties used to contact the shaft until I adjusted the shaft numerous times, but the LT's clear no problem.
If emissions won't allow you to run LT's, and you just want to get shorties because you like the way they look, and someone's giving them to you for next to free, then go for it. Otherwise I recommend going for the long tubes, you'll be much happier in the end...just my .02

whats your spending limit? dynatech's are gone you about $1300,with or without cats.pacesetters are about $550 with a catless y-pipe.the prices will vary between those two sets.alot use pascesetters.
