best way to get low end power
#11
What if Im wanting something that sounds a tad bit choppy? So its somewhat noticeable theres a cam there

the choppyness comes from lowering the LSA... the lower ther LSA the shorter and higher your bringing up your power range...
the vinci "trucker cam" is supposed to make awesome torque...
o and by the way have you tried a live tune yet???

I dunno how to describe it. When you hit the throttle the engine revs but there is a delay in when the vehicle moves, almost like there is a lot of drive terrain wind up.

The TCI also gave me an avg of 14mpg with a best of 15 and the Circle D is 16-17.
However I wouldn't recommend a Stall if you want low end, It's just too excessive IMO unless you want something that's just fast.
Get some 4.10's, Small cam, Long Tubes, and a Tune like already mentioned. Don't worry about the MPG difference in the Gears. Im getting the same or slightly better MPG's with those mods than I was getting stock with 3.42s in my Extended Cab.
I noticed the best MPG's by getting a Speed Density tune. Luckily you can do that with EFI Live now without putting in a Custom Operating System. I lean my cruise out to 15.5-16.0AFR and i'm happy with it.

MGsilverado said in his original post he wanted more bottom end performance so he could smoke the ricers. Anyone who thinks adding a stall converter won't give you better bottom end performance is mistaken. Yes there are some drawbacks but the performance gains are well worth it. Sure adding a small duration high lift cam like the OLD MAN cam will provide more torque and switching to 4:10 gears will help also. However the least expensive easiest way to make your truck take off faster is to add a stall converter.
