Best way to gut the cats?
I get a horrible rattle from my driver side cat, so i figure i may as well just gut them and take care of the problem. i have my rear 02s turned off already in my tune..
whats the best way to go about gutting the cats? is it worth the work?

depends on where you live...if you can get away without having them on there just throw on a set of longtubes and ory and call it done. if you dont wanna add headers right now and still need to at least pass a visual inspection just cut them off, beat all the **** out of them then weld a piece of straight pipe down the middle of them and weld them back onto the truck, problem solved

Hell all I did was cut the end of each cat off, took an iron bar and broke the honeycomb up, fired up the truck and blew it all out then welded it back up, only took about an hour.

only problem with doing that is the risk of getting any of that crap stuck in your exhaust pipe or muffler. i know a few people have blown out their cats and had the honeycomb get stuck in their x-pipes or mufflers...then youd be in for even more work and possibly new mufflers
