ET Drags are my fav. for a full on slick. For a tire you can kinda drive on the street legally but not really safely the ET Street and Hoosier Quick Time Pro are both great. Most mildly built cars/trucks will hook great on the street legal slicks but once you start hitting power levels like Parish you're only hope is a real slick. At least us truck guys are autos and that helps us launch easier since we don't shock the tires like manual tranny guys do.

I usually stall up to about 1300-1400 rpms then I let go of just the brake and as my truck starts to move I am flooring it at the same time. It's really quick though. I really want some et streets though cause nothing feels better than stalling till your truck is about to move then mashing the pedal off the line.
